Hilton Garden Inn

St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada

SWS Engineering Inc. collaborated with the Architect and Owner to design this high-rise 12-storey hotel with a basement. The building includes a convention centre and was designed with the considerations for a future addition. The majority of the structure was constructed using reinforced concrete with some structural steel at the specialised glass canopy and for the penthouse. The building rests on bedrock using plain and reinforced concrete pad and strip footings. The exterior wind load bearing walls are constructed using light steel framing (LSF).
