Midtown Lofts

Kitchener, Ontario, Canada

This project is a 6-storey condominium containing two below-grade parking levels. The primary structure on the parking garage and on ground floor consists of precast concrete walls, columns, beams with core slabs. The upper floors were constructed using metal stud walls mixed with few precast wall panels. Furthermore, it was used a metal stud joists floor system with metal deck as temporary form to improve construction speed for those upper levels. The soil condition throughout the site allowed the use of regular shallow foundation system, which, in this case, used cast-in-place reinforced concrete.
